JOHN M. MCMILLAN, AIA, LEED AP, MCPPO

ARCHITECT

John is a Senior Architect with over 40 years of experience in the industry. Originally trained in environmental engineering, he transitioned to architecture for its wide-ranging challenges—from design and construction to codes, bidding, and working closely with clients across facility types. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the New York Institute of Technology and an engineering background from Western New England College. He is a LEED Accredited Professional and a Massachusetts Certified Public Purchasing Official (MCPPO).

John has deep experience in the public sector, with a focus on police and fire facilities, senior centers, military projects, historical renovations, and design/build delivery. He is especially proud of his work improving public safety buildings—projects he values for the opportunity to support first responders and their communities.

A Springfield native, John enjoys photography, landscape architecture, and being a proud father to his son, Tom. He is known for being innovative, analytical, detail-oriented, and strategic. At Caolo & Bieniek Architects, John values the ability to manage projects from design through construction and enjoys the collaborative relationships with both internal teams and consultant partners.
