This two-story, 32,000-square-foot library was designed to replace the city’s outdated original facility and provide modern, flexible spaces to serve Chicopee’s growing community. The building was thoughtfully planned to support both traditional library services and expanded public programming.
The design included conference and multipurpose meeting rooms to host a variety of educational and cultural events, along with designated areas for technology access and digital learning. An outdoor amphitheater was integrated to allow for seasonal programming and performances, enhancing community engagement.
Off-street parking for patrons and staff was incorporated into the site layout to improve accessibility and convenience. The project prioritized both functionality and longevity, creating a welcoming and adaptable civic space that continues to support the diverse needs of its users.
